Pat Graves is a Blacksburg native who has owned dogs her whole life. She has been playing flyball since 2010. She and her dog Gracie lived in Costa Rica while Pat served as a missionary teaching English, helping with a church plant, and volunteering at a food bank. While there Gracie was introduced to some obstacles, but it wasn't until they moved back to the 'Burg that she really learned how to play the game. There was a lot of help from teammates getting Gracie started as Pat was walking with a cane for most of her early training days! Pat is a professional stat taker. Because she is so often writing down our dogs' times, she is usually the first person to know when your dog ran a new personal best, and is always the first one to congratulate you and share in your accomplishment. Pat and Gracie are one of our go-to start teams, although they have been known to start running in the pack recently. Pat is well rounded in her scope of jobs. She trained horses professionally for 26 years, works at Flying Fur! on occasion, works part-time at the local Holistic Vet, and is selling Real Estate across the New River Valley. Outside of flyball, Pat and Gracie enjoy hiking!
